It’s been a while since I showed you guys any book porn. I came back from KL with my luggage overweight with books. It’s stale to me now, so I’ll show you my most recent purchases.

From top:

Goblin Market and Other Poems, Christina Rossetti
The Knowledge of Water, Sarah Smith
The Anastasia Syndrome & Other Stories, Mary Higgins Clark
The Seventh Moon, Marius Gabriel
The Secret Life of Bees, Sue Monk Kidd
Artemis Fowl and The Lost Colony, Eoin Colfer
Artemis Fowl and The Opal Deception, Eoin Colfer
We Need To Talk About Kevin, Lionel Shriver

The last three were purchased new from Times Bookstore, while the rest are secondhand from Book Castle.

I’m currently halfway through The Secret Life of Bees. I came to like Sue Monk Kidd when I read The Mermaid Chair, so compelling reads are a good way of reminding yourself why you like reading. I’ve not really read much in the last month or so. I got tired of it, I suppose, and yet I can’t afford to stop because it is work. That’s a sure way of taking the enjoyment out of something.

The Artemis Fowl books bring my collection up to date. And speaking of bringing something up to date, I saw that Times has Book 1 – 6 of Harry Potter in the adult paperback edition. I only have Book 5 & 6 in the children’s “launch edition” hard cover and for some reason, I’m hesitant to place my order this year.

I guess part of the reason is that I don’t like the cover of the children’s edition this year. Getting the adult one will mean that it won’t match the other two books. I intended to get 1 – 5 of the same edition at some point, but I think it’ll be more practical to give the RM100+ Book 7 a miss and use that money to buy the set in adult paperback instead.

So, anyone in Kuching want to lend me Book 7?
