Another book that just became available online for free is Neil Gaiman’s “American Gods”, in celebration of his blog’s 7th birthday. Doesn’t look like you can download it, but you can read it here.

I didn’t pick this title when I voted. I think I picked “Stardust”, which had a lighter and more whimsical tone. “American Gods” isn’t the kind of novel that would make me interested in reading more Gaiman; it made me go “eh?”

Anyway, did I mention it’s free?

On a related note, I shouldn’t be allowed in book stores hunting for a book that isn’t here yet. When I looked in MPH, I ended up buying “Kira-Kira” and “The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place”. When I looked in Times, I found John Sutherland’s “How To Read a Novel”. Many new bookses! Just not the one I was looking for.
