Blog Action Day

I know I own more than 100 books (probably more than 200, I haven’t counted in a while) , so that category of things is the first one I’ll take out of the equation.

Anyhoo, Leo Babauta of Zen Habits have also taken up the challenge. He gives a few suggestions on how to get started in this entry.

As I’ve slowly started decluttering myself, I find this challenge interesting, although I don’t know if I’ll be able to reduce my belongings down to 100! But it’s something to think about.

I have set aside my first batch of stuff that I’m planning to sell off – mostly oil burners, lanterns and things like that. I’m trying to talk a few people in to clearing out their unneeded stuff so we can put up a garage sale. Anyone interested?

Marching Band Thriller

It’s like myspace music, except less annoying! It’s off to a good start as Asia’s music resource, serving as a hub for musicians to meet other musicians, and for music lover to discover new music. After creating a profile, you can add songs to your playlist. Here’s my profile and some of the songs I’m listening to.

ElectroCity
I’m so addicted to this game. It’s like SimCity with an environmental message and quite easy to grasp after a few trial-&-error games. Sez the website:

ElectroCity is a new online computer game that lets players manage their own virtual towns and cities. It’s great fun to play and also teaches players all about energy, sustainability and environmental management in New Zealand.

Dark Cities collide
Remember that anthology my short story was accepted into? Astro is launching the Dark City TV series tomorrow, but hold your applause… this is not related to the original book. As usual, Sharon Bakar has the story, so I will just direct you over to her entry.

Kaki Kuching is an event blog for the arts & entertainment scene in Kuching, fuelled by people who are more or less “in the know”.

We like classical concerts, independent films, art exhibitions and performance poetry. We support acts and shows in most shapes and forms (unless it’s shaped like a reality TV show and formed like an over-rated pop star).

We support local talent now, instead of waiting until they’ve made their fame elsewhere and pretending we’ve always been behind them.
